Support and Training for transferring foster carers

Transferring to Wholistic Fostering When You Already Have a Foster Child

You're not just moving agencies — you're gaining a deeper level of support.

Transferring to Wholistic Fostering means you’ll be stepping into a community that sees you as a person first, not just a carer. Whether you're joining us from another fostering agency or a local authority, we make sure you’re welcomed, understood, and equipped — not just to continue fostering, but to thrive in it.

A network built around you — and the child in your care

At Wholistic, we believe strong carers build strong homes. That’s why we’re intentional about the way we support you from day one — with warmth, consistency, and the professional structure you need to succeed.

When you transfer with a child, we understand you already have a wealth of experience. You’re not starting from scratch — we simply build on the strong foundation you’ve already laid.

You’ll be supported by:

  • A dedicated supervising social worker who truly gets to know you
  • Our registered manager and local team who coordinate your handover with compassion
  • A wider network of psychologists, trainers, health specialists, and cultural advisors
  • 24/7 out-of-hours support, because questions don’t always wait for business hours

A buddy system and foster parent peer groups, so you never feel alone

Training that respects your experience — and expands it

We know many transferring carers come with training and years of insight under their belt. That’s why our training offer meets you where you are and helps you grow from there.

🌍 Culturally inclusive training
Our training reflects the diversity of our children and carers. We offer support tailored to kinship carers, faith-based fostering, and culturally sensitive care.

More than training — it’s community

Transferring to Wholistic means joining a family of carers who share their wisdom, their time, and their stories.

You’ll have access to:

  • Local peer support groups

  • Mentorship opportunities with experienced carers
  • An active carer-led community on WhatsApp and Facebook
