Fostering in Walsall

Make a lasting impact in one of the West Midlands' most community-driven towns

Walsall is a town of heart, resilience and proud multicultural roots. But many children across the borough still need safe, loving homes — including children and young people from Black and multiracial backgrounds. Whether you’re in Bloxwich, Darlaston, Aldridge or Willenhall, Wholistic Fostering is here to guide and support your fostering journey.

What Makes Wholistic Different in Walsall?

We’ve walked this path — and it shapes how we support you

Best Fostering Agency to become a foster carer in Birmingham and the Black Country for
Our agency was founded by people who’ve experienced the care system themselves. That lived experience shapes how we train, advocate and walk alongside both carers and children.

Local care that honours culture and community

We specialise in supporting children from African, Caribbean and multiracial backgrounds — and we equip our carers to meet those cultural and emotional needs with confidence.

That means:

  • Comprehensive training for fostering children and young people
  • Specialised training on trauma, race, identity and heritage
  • Local peer support and reflective spaces in Walsall
  • Family-led agency with deep connections to the community

You’ll receive:

  • A named social worker who knows you and your household

  • 24/7 contact for practical help and reassurance

  • Training tailored to you, your story and your needs

  • Consistent support from your dedicated social worker

  • Financial and emotional support tailored to your needs

  • Small team. Big heart. Real relationships.

A professional journey with a personal feel

You won’t get lost in a system here. You’ll know us — and we’ll know you.

Fostering That Fits Your Life

There’s no single way to foster — just like there’s no single type of child in care. We’ll help you find the path that fits your home, your energy and your time.

  • ✅ Emergency placements
  • ✅ Long-term or permanent fostering
  • ✅ Keeping siblings together
  • ✅ Short-term care
  • ✅ Respite for other foster families

We'll work with you to find the right fit for you — we'll ensure you're not left to manage by yourself.

How We Support Walsall Foster Carers

You’re never doing it alone when you're fostering with Wholistic.

That means:

  • Weekly allowances between £350–£700 per child

  • A named social worker who checks in regularly

  • Ongoing specialist training — in person or online

  • Help with schools, services and child development

  • Local carer events, mentoring and reflection groups

We advocate for our foster carers and we support them to feel able to speak up on behalf of the children and young people they care for.
